Tinkers Island

London, November 1798

Jenny Tinker is fourteen. She and her father, Sam, work in Covent Garden market. They sell fruit and vegetables. The Tinkers get up early every morning and work very hard. One day after work Jenny sees a man. He is running and he has got a watch in his hand. "Here - take this," he says, and gives Sam the watch. "There's the thief! He's got my watch - stop him!" says old man. "You're coming with us," two policemen say to Sam. They do not listen to Jenny's story.
Jenny did various things to help her father.
I think she is very brave.
Sam has met with a chapter of accidents.

I read this book, I was impressed.

The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Clomp, clomp, clomp! Little Billy started across the bridge. Then he heard a cranky voice."Stop there! I am going to eat you up!" yelled Troll. "Wait for my brother. He is bigger and much more delicious than I!" cried Little Billy."What a fine idea," said Trol, licking his lips. And with that, Little Billy crossed the bridge. (pp. 6-8) Three Billy goats gruff are very clever! They cooperated and defeated Troll.  I think Trol is an overly honest. I've just remembered "三匹のやぎのがらがらどん"  Findley, V. (2006). BR1-07: Marcel and the Mona Lisa

"And he's ... stealing the Mona Lisa!" (p.3) Marcel is a French mouse, and a detective. He has lots of friends in Paris. One of them is Céline. She paints pictures and is very beautiful. Céline's home is at the Louvre. Marcel often goes there for dinner. One day he arrives with some pink flowers. There is a guard at the door. He doesn't know him, he thinks he must be new. Marcel had a meal with Céline, after that he walks across the floor. He is very happy. Then he stops. The room is dark, but he can see something. There was a man with a long knife. He stole the Mona Lisa. The thief smiles and picks up the bag, but a second later he puts it again. Marcel thinks "It's now or never." He runs along the wall very fast, climbs up the tall, black bag, and jumps inside it... If you are interested in the rest of that story, please read it.
